Makale Özeti:

The aim of the study is to compare and
contrast the conceptions of animal metaphors in Malay and
Uzbek culture that are written in the chosen literary
materials. This paper focuses on three animals that are
common to both cultures, namely goat, chickens, and fish.
This effort would enable readers to understand how
environmental, geographical and history factors shaped the
culture of a community. This paper employs a qualitative
framework through content analysis on chosen texts.
Analysis on the chosen texts reveals that the use of these
animals has similarities and differences in terms of form,
purpose and context. The use of these animals reflects the
prevailing f politic, economic activities, custom and
aspiration of the community in the era. These facts reveal
that both communities had some kind of civilisation and
growth in living, knowledge and economic endeavours. This
study provides insights to better understand relationship of
animal metaphors to the life and culture of the Malay and
Uzbeks communities.
