Bu çalışmanın amacı sekizinci sınıf fen bilimleri dersi kapsamında ele alınan ses ünitesinin öğretimine yönelik geliştirilen materyal hakkındaki öğretmen ve öğrenci görüşlerinin incelenmesidir. Betimsel tarama yöntemi doğrultusunda yürütülen çalışmada nitel araştırma tekniklerinden yararlanılmıştır. Çalışmanın örneklemini Kocaeli İli Derince İlçesinde dört ortaokulun sekizinci sınıfındaki 81 öğrenci ve 14 fen bilgisi öğretmeni oluşturmuştur. Veriler yarı-yapılandırılmış görüşmeler aracılığıyla toplanmıştır. Görüşmeler sonucunda elde edilen veriler içerik analizi yoluyla değerlendirilmiş ve çeşitli sonuçlara ulaşılmıştır. Çalışma sonucunda, öğretmenlerin materyalin ses kavramlarını somutlaştırdığı, kavramların kolay ve doğru öğrenilmesine yardımcı olduğu, kavram yanılgılarını önlediği, özellikle öğrenciler tarafından karıştırılan ses şiddeti-genliği, ses frekansı-ses yüksekliği, ses şiddeti-ses yüksekliği gibi kavramları öğretmede faydalı olduğu, materyalin öğrenci seviyesine ve konu içeriğine uygun olduğu gibi görüşleri paylaştıkları belirlenmiştir. Öğrencilerin ise, konuyu daha iyi öğrendiklerini, duydukları seslerde tanecik hareketlerini gözlemledikleri için öğrenmenin daha kalıcı olabileceğini, ses kavramları arasındaki ilişkileri rahatlıkla kavrayabildiklerini, materyali çok eğlenceli bulduklarını ve fen derslerinin diğer konularında da materyal kullanılması gerektiğini vurguladıkları görülmüştür

The purpose of this study is to examine the views of teachers and students on the teaching material created for teaching the sound unit, which is considered within the scope of the eighth-grade science course. Qualitative research techniques were used in the study conducted in line with the descriptive survey method. The sample of the study consisted of 81 8th grade students and 14 science teachers from four secondary schools in the province of Derince, Kocaeli. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews. The data obtained were processed through content analysis and various results were reached. It was concluded that the material is useful in teaching concepts such as sound intensity-amplitude, sound frequency-loudness, loudness-loudness, especially confused by students, that the material is useful in teaching the concepts of sound, helps to learn concepts easily and accurately, and it was determined that they shared their views as appropriate to the subject content. On the other hand, students emphasized that they learned the subject better, that learning could be more permanent because of what they heard while seeing, they could easily comprehend the relationships between sound concepts, they found the material very entertaining, and that materials should be used in other subjects of science lessons.
