Bu araştırmanın amacı REACT stratejisine göre hazırlanmış öğretim materyalinin 6. sınıf
öğrencilerinin “Sesin Yayılması” ve “Sesin Farklı Ortamlarda Farklı Duyulması” konularındaki
kavramsal anlamalarına etkisini ve öğrencilerin öğretim materyali ve öğretim uygulaması
hakkındaki görüşlerini belirlemektir. Araştırmada tek grubun kullanıldığı basit deneysel yöntem
kullanılmıştır. Araştırmaya 2018-2019 eğitim öğretim bahar yarıyılında Doğu Karadeniz
Bölgesi’nde bir köy okulunda öğrenim gören toplam 21 (13 kız, 8 erkek) 6. sınıf öğrencisi
katılmıştır. Araştırmanın nicel verileri 12 sorudan oluşan iki aşamalı kavram testi ile nitel verileri
ise müdahale sürecinin ardından rastgele seçilen 6 öğrenci ile yürütülen yarı yapılandırılmış
görüşmelerle elde edilmiştir. İki aşamalı kavram testinin ön ve son test sonuçlarını karşılaştırmak
için Wilcoxon işaretli sıralar testi, nitel verilerin analizinde ise içerik analizi kullanılmıştır. Sonuç
olarak, bu araştırmada bağlama dayalı öğrenme yaklaşımının REACT stratejisinin 6. sınıf
öğrencilerinin “Sesin Yayılması ve Sesin Farklı Ortamlarda Farklı Duyulması” konularındaki
kavramsal anlamalarını olumlu yönde etkilediği belirlenmiştir. Bununla birlikte öğrencilerin
müdahale sürecini güzel, eğlenceli, anlaşılır, günlük yaşamla ilişki kurmaya ve grup çalışması
yapmaya teşvik edici olarak değerlendirdikleri sonucuna ulaşılmıştır

The aim of this study is to evaluate the effect of an instructional material prepared according to
the REACT strategy on 6th grade students' conceptual understanding of "Sound Propagation and
Hearing the Sound Different in Different Environments" and the students' opinions on the
teaching material and intervention. In the research, a pre-experimental method using a single
group was used. Participants of this study consist of 21 (13 girls, 8 boys) 6th grade students
studying in a village school in the Eastern Black Sea Region in the spring semester of 2018-2019
education. The quantitative data of the study were obtained from the two-tier concept test
consisting of 12 questions, and the qualitative data from the semi-structured interviews
conducted with 6 randomly selected students after the intervention process. The Wilcoxon signed
rank test was used to analyze the pre-test and post-test results of the two-tier concept test, and
content analysis was used to analyze the qualitative data. As a result, in this study, it was
determined that REACT strategy of the context-based learning approach positively affected the
conceptual understanding of 6th grade students on "Sound Propagation and Hearing the Sound in
Different Environments". After the teaching intervention, it was concluded that the participant
students generally evaluated the intervention process as nice, fun, understandable, and
encouraging to establish a relationship with daily life and to do group work.
