Çağımızda kaliteli üretimi gerçekleştirebilecek, bilimsel ve teknolojik gelişmeye uyum sağlayabilecek, iş hayatının ihtiyaç duyduğu yüksek nitelikli tekniker ve meslek elemanlarını yetiştirecek eğitim sisteminin sahip olduğu girdilerin temel özelliklerinin bilinmesi gerekmektedir. Bu doğrultuda bu araştırmanın amacı, Yükseköğretim sisteminin önemli bir bileşeni olan meslek yüksekokullarında, nasıl bir öğrenci profilinin bulunduğunun belirlenmesidir. Bu araştırma, bir sosyoekonomik profil çalışması olarak yatay bir sosyal bilim çalışmasıdır. Araştırmada elde edilen veri tabanı ile, bir boyutu mikro ve yatay bir araştırmanın genel sonuçları ortaya konulmak, diğer bir boyutu ile bir çok dikey çalışmanın bir unsurunu oluşturabilecek verileri ortaya çıkartmak amaçlanmıştır. Bu çalışmada verilerin oldukça sınırlı bir analizine yer verilerek genel bir profil sunulmaya çalışılmıştır. Araştırma bulgularına göre; ankete katılan öğrencilerin %49.31’inin genel lise mezunudur. %55.17’sinin ailesi şehir merkezinde ikamet etmekte, %85.17’sinin ailesi sosyal güvenceye sahip bulunmakta, %55.86’sı öğrenim bursu ya da kredi almakta, %23.10’u yarı zamanlı bir işte çalışmakta ve %6.92’si kendisine ait bir arabaya sahip bulunmaktadır. Bu araştırma sonuçları Ahi Evran Üniversitesi Kaman Meslek Yüksekokulu’nun çağdaş ve modern eğitim çalışmaları yapabilmesi için bir kaynak mahiyetindedir. Ayrıca Üniversite yöneticilerine hâli hazırdaki öğrencilerinin profilleri hakkında bir veri tabanı oluşturmaktadır.

The fundamental characteristics of the inputs of the education system which would execute production, adapt to the scientific and technological innovations, and raise skilled and qualified individuals who are required for business life should be known. Therefore, the aim of this study is to reveal the profiles of students at vocational high schools which is one of the main components of higher education system. This study is a socio-economic profile study which is a horizontal social sciences research. The purpose of the data collected in the research is two fold. While first is to introduce the results of the micro and study, the second is to reveal the data that may be an issue for many vertical studies. Accommodating the very limited analysis of the data, the very general profile is presented. To the research; 49.31% of the students graduated from college. The percentage of the students whose family live in downtown is 55.17%, 55,17 % of the students’ family live in city, whose family have social security is 85.17%, who has scholarship is 55.86%, who have part-time job is 23.10%, and who have his/her own car is 6.92%. This study is a resource for implementing contemporary and modern education at Ahi Evran University Kaman Vocational High School. In addition, this study is a database of the students for the administrators of the high school.
