Bu araştırmanın temel amacı, sendikalı ve sendikasız öğretmenlerin görüşlerine göre eğitim sendikalarının yaşadıkları sorunları ortaya koymak ve bu sorunlara çözüm önerileri geliştirmektir. Araştırma tarama modelinde desenlenmiş ve nitel araştırma yöntemi kullanılarak gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırma 2011-2012 eğitim-öğretim yılında Kars’taki 10 ilköğretim okulunda görev yapan 20’si sendika üyesi, 20’si sendika üyesi olmayan öğretmen olmak üzere toplam 40 katılımcı ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bu araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak “Eğitim Sendikalarının Yaşadıkları Sorunlar” başlıklı yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu kullanılmıştır. Veriler nitel veri analizi tekniklerinden içerik analiz tekniği kullanılarak çözümlenmiştir. Araştırmanın sonucunda sendikalı öğretmenler Türkiye’deki eğitim sendikalarının karşılaştıkları en önemli sorunları; ekonomik sıkıntılar, yeterli üye bulamama, öğretmenlere yeterince yardımcı olamama, yeteri kadar kendilerini tanıtamama, gerçek anlamda öğretmenlerin sorunlarına değinmeme, siyasi baskıdan korkularak, kimseye ters düşmemek adına yeterli faaliyet yapmama, hükümet tarafından ciddiye alınmama olarak ifade etmişlerdir.

Main purpose of this study is to determine the problems of educational unions depending on the perceptions of the teachers who are the members of a union or who find the ways to solve such problems.The study is in a survey model and it was carried out using qualitative research design. The study was carried out during the 2011-2012 education year on a total of 40 teachers, 20 of whom were the members of a union, 20 of whom were not, working for 10 primary schools in Kars province. As a data collection instrument a semi-structural interview form titled “Problems of Educational Unions” was used in the study. Data analysis was done using content analysis technique, one of the qualitative data analysis techniques. According to the result of the study the teachers who were the members of an educational union stated common problems educational unions in Turkey confront were economic problems, not finding enough number of members, not meeting the needs of teachers, not making the teachers being aware of such unions, not trying to solve the problems of the teachers properly, not functioning enough due to the influence of political pressure, not serving sufficiently because of the fearing of political interference, and not being taken into consideration by the government.
