Study area covers the Balıkesir province covering between southern section of Marmara
Sea and eastern part of Edremit Gulf, northeast of Aegean Sea.
Planetary and physical geographical factors determine considerably the amount of the
precipitation. Indeed the distribution of the annual precipitation and its frequency and intensity
mostly are related to the frontal activities. Theese activities and changing of the precipitation
effect the agricultural productivity.
The main climatic type of the study area is the transiditional Mediterranean climate
between the Black Sea climatic regime and typic Mediterranean climate. For this reason the
precipitation and temperature regime of the typic Mediterranean climate is subjected to some important changes. The amount of summer rainfall is more than that of the Mediterranean
climate. Summer temperature is cooler than the Mediterranean.
In this article detail information is given relating to the precipitation and tempereture in
the study area.
